Kurt Vonnegut Poster

This project consisted of our professor giving us a quote and we were to make a poster that conveyed the essence of that quote. My quote, “We are what we pretend to be”, continued to bring about the idea that we fake it till we make it. We pick and choose aspects of ourselves and continue to pretend we have those traits until we really do indeed embody those traits. Putting that into a visual, I used the repetition of the phrase to insinuate the repetition of telling ourselves what we ‘pretend’ we are over and over. The handwritten type moves in a gradient from very opaque to bold and dark to show apprehension at the beginning of us faking what we want to be to the end where we really believe we are what we have been telling ourselves we are. The colors are bold to offset the quotes feeling of uncertainty. Like I said before, we pick and choose things we want to become and work to make those a hallmark of who we are. That is displayed through the use of the highlighted words throughout the poster.
